Yet more pictures of Apple’s rumoured tablet have appear online, once again they look quite convincing but you can never really tell these days. But using video as they did to try and prove the new 3rd generation iPod Touch is a good way to prove it.
The second picture shows a phone to show both the size comparison and to try and prove its authenticity. It certainly fits the idea of an Apple tablet, with only one button, but we will have to see what else appears.
Over the last few days multiple photographs, some fake and some real, along with video footage appear to show what can only be described as the 3rd generation iPod Touch device. If the images are in fact real, which some have been proven not to be, then the new iPod Touch will have an in-built camera as previously rumored. If this is true then it’s taking away even more from the differences between the iPod Touch and iPhone.
As we know from the iPhone Video or iPhone Video iChat rumors, we know that they can easily be faked and some images were done very convincingly so take all pictures with a pinch of salt.
But if you don’t believe the photos that have been posted then a video has been published which shows the same device with the camera. This makes it a lot more authenticated and less likely to be a fake.
The new iPod Touch rumored to be announced in September, will gain more space and better pricing, according to John Gruber.

64GB – $399
Apple is expected to announce the new devices at a September music event.
Many reports have shown that there’s a chance of a 8GB iPhone 3GS model soon. The 8GB model was found on Rogers Wireless internal sales system, however Rogers quickly said it was an error. However a few days later, the 8GB 3GS reappeared in the system.

There has been many reports that enabling the numeric battery feature on the iPhone actually kills the battery life 
quicker. Some people have reportedly found a massive increase in battery life after turning off this simple feature. Especially those with jailbroken phones who use SBSettings to turn on the feature.
Some people oriignally thought the battery died quicker, but thought it was a psychological thing and that you thought it was as you could see the percentage go down. However I’ve now turned off the numeric battery for good and hope I get better battery life as currently it’s not lasting a whole day with light use.
I’ve been experiencing this problem a lot lately as every few days even after I’d deleted some email pushed to me from 
Yahoo! Mail, it would re-appear a few days later saying it had been unread.
I’ve been trying to think of a cause of this, it could be that when I delete mail I don’t give it long enough for it to sync back with the server; but it runs as a background process so surly it can, right?
Or maybe it’s a problem with Yahoo! Mail, which it could be but I’ll be testing out some things to test it and see if I can work all this out as it’s not convenient finding 10’s of emails re-appear.
In the latest version of the iPhone OS 3.1 beta, which was seeded to developers last week, it contains an updated configuration file that references two products known as “iProdo,1” and “iProdo1,1”. Originally a reference to “iProdo,1” was spotted back in March in a previous version of the same configuration file.
The iProd1,1 device has been assigned a new productID of 4762 (versus 4757 of iProd0,1) and assigned a different ConfigurationDescriptor of “standardMuxPTPEthernet.” iPhone models also have this designation, and the additional interface identified in the plist for this configuration is “AppleUSBEthernet.” The consensus on the internet seems to be that the new device might have gained high-speed networking capabilities; though the iPhone uses the interface to tether to a laptop to share its 3G connection.
The original “iProd0,1” suggested that the device was a prototype, but the new addition of a “1,1” version of the device implies that it may now be approaching a public release.
Could this be the Apple Tablet that has been rumored so much recently?
The iPhone Dev-Team have confirmed that there is no need for them to release new tools for 
jailbreaking the latest firmware 3.0.1.
They released this information:
The 3.0.1 release is a “branch” from 3.0 that occurs (code-wise) before all the 3.1 betas. The programs redsn0w needs to change for the jailbreak are identical when you compare the 3.0 and 3.0.1 versions. It seems pretty much the only changes Apple made were for the SMS bug, which affects programs that redsn0w doesn’t touch. That’s why you can re-use redsn0w 0.8 on 3.0.1 even though it was written for 3.0.
And since 3.0.1 doesn’t touch the baseband either, ultrasn0w 0.9 works for those needing the soft unlock. Just install it from the repo666.ultrasn0w.com repository using Cydia as usual.
We’ll at some point fix redsn0w to recognize both 3.0 and 3.0.1 IPSW’s, but really that’s the only change that would be made to it. Everything else would be identical, so there’s no need to wait for the “proper” version that recognizes the 3.0.1 IPSW as valid.
So to jailbreak the new firmware just use the old tools and you should have no problems.
Apple earlier today released the latest iPhone OS, version 3.0.1. This update fixes the major SMS security issue that they
have finally fixed.
There hasn’t been many changes in the latest firmware release that have been found other than the SMS fix, feel free to email them in if you find any.
If you want to jailbreak your device it has been reported that in most cases it works fine but maybe wait a while until everything gets checked out.
